My name is Mrs Simmonds, and I am the teacher for Dosbarth Enfys. Miss Jarman, Mr Pewtner and Mr Hayward make up our Enfys team, working alongside Mr Osmond and Miss Middleton in the Enfys intervention team.   

Dosbarth Enfys is a class where pupils engage in complementary curriculum education, both on site and offsite. We work as a team to provide a well-rounded education, alongside our other class teams, for all the pupils at the primary campus, as well as engaging with some pupils from the secondary campus once a week. 

Our aim is to create a welcoming learning environment, built on respect for ourselves and each other. The Curriculum Cymreig is at the center of our teaching and learning, with our focus being on nurturing strong, capable and independent young people, who have a desire to learn and grow. This is achieved with the use of an individual approach to each of the children's learning needs and an appropriately differentiated, complementary -focused curriculum.

On site, we provide an opportunity for self-expression through multi skills, including art, pottery, collage, design and photography. Off site we provide learning sessions at Bryn Bach Park, where we engage in opportunities such as team building, caving, climbing, kayaking, karting, bush craft, raft building and mini golf... We also enjoy outdoor educational lessons at the Woodlands, including nature walks, growing vegetables and cooking. Then, back at school we develop our life skills to help prepare each young person for a successful future.

Music, Art, Reflexology, Intervention and Sensory Room sessions play a large part in our week, in addition to swimming lessons and visits from Dragon Rugby. 

Wellbeing is an essential part of our day-to-day routine. Our passion is to provide tools to develop healthy young people who are emotionally and physically robust.  

The use of incidental Welsh is encouraged and pupils learn about Welsh traditions and cultures, as well as creating impressive art work for the Urdd Eisteddfod.

Dosbarth Enfys is a lively and enthusiastic class and our aim is to channel these qualities into positive actions.
